Triple Pop has entered into an marketing playlist agreement with PCMusic (aka RXMusic & Prescriptive Music) which creates custom brand music playlists for retail businesses nationwide, such as Four Seasons, Cheesecake Factory, Wolfgang Puck, Ritz Carlton Hotels and Canyon Ranch Spa.
Some of the tracks to be marketed include Apologize and See You Again performed by Kacey Musgraves.
PCMusic markets itself as follows: “Prescriptive Music is a music consultancy service working with brands to design tailored playlists for physical spaces. Our strengths lie in attuning to the nuances of each client’s environment – from the time of day to the décor of the space – and translating these visual cues into unrivaled music curation.
We understand that visual style is only enhanced when the right music is used to inform the “feeling” of a space. With this knowledge, we shape the sonic dimension of physical spaces by imbuing them with emotion to make them unforgettable. Our music consultants are made up of leading music industry professionals with a vast knowledge of recorded music history as well as current trends.”
Ideally, this in turn creates more awareness amongst consumers for certain tracks, which will drives streaming and downloads. It remains to be seen if this just another money grab, where businesses makes money off music, and labels/artists get nothing in return.
