Singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves is an alternative-country music singer and songwriter from Golden, Texas.
In 2008, Monte Robison with Triple Pop was the first record label to discover and record Ms. Musgraves when she was just 19 years old (same age as Elvis Presley when Sam Philips of Sun Records discovered him in 1954).
For Triple Pop, Kacey performed the acoustic songs “See You Again” and “Apologize,” which are now both available digitally on the two (2) song EP “Apologize & See You Again” (Triple Pop, 2013).
“Apologize” charted in the Billboard Hot Singles Chart at #23 on February 15, 2014. As of 2025, it has nearly 55,000,000 (55M) streams, and was certified GOLD in Europe by IMPALA. Kacey’s wonderful version of “See You Again” kept in line with her off-beat sensibilities, turning the otherwise pop song into adult alternative acoustic ballad, and her version of One Republic’s “Apologize” is heartfelt and memorable. Both songs showcase Kacey’s natural performing talents at an early age.
In 2012, Kacey signed with Mercury Records (Universal Nashville) and released her first major label single “Merry Go ‘Round” in 2012, which has been certified RIAA Gold. Kacey’s debut major label album, Same Trailer Different Park, debuted at #2 in the Billboard Country chart. Her follow-up album, Pageant Material, reached #3 in the overall Billboard Top 200.
Kacey has been nominated for multiple American Country Music Awards, including “Video of the Year” as both artist and producer, and “Female Vocalist of the Year” alongside Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.
Kacey was a multiple nominee for the 2013 Country Music Association Awards. In 2014, Kacey won two (2) GRAMMY Awards for Best Country Album and Best Country Song of the Year. Kacey also won Album of the Year from the Academy of Country Music.
Kacey Musgraves‘ new studio album, Golden Hour, was released in 2018 and won the GRAMMY for Album of The Year in 2019. In 2024, Kacey won another GRAMMY for her latest single, “The Architect” from her latest album, Deeper Well.
Kacey has been profiled in news publications such as The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, Huffington Post, LA Times, CBS News and USA Today.
In 2022, Kacey was featured on the front cover of Time Magazine, as the Woman of the Year.
In 2018, to mark the ten (10) year anniversary, Triple Pop released “Acoustic Remixed” featuring newly mixed and remastered versions of these same tracks in multiple configurations.
