Kris Farrow’s version of The Office TV theme featured in actual NBC Season Finale May 16th!

The Office The producers of NBC’s show, The Office, are going to use Kris Farrow’s acoustic guitar version of the classic Office theme song in the primetime season retrospective finale of the show, which airs tomorrow, Thursday, May 16th 8pm EST, 7pm CST.

This is the final episode of the show (which we’ve all loved over the years) and we are sorry to see such a great show end.

We’re not sure exactly at what spot in the episode they’re are using the recording – it’s all top secret and stuff being the last episode. Our guess it’s going to be used in special montage segment.  Just listen for Kris’ unmistakable guitar playing!

We are thankful to NBC for licensing Kris’ amazing acoustic guitar version of the song, which is available on Acoustic Guitar Karaoke, Vol. 24 (Movie & TV Themes) on the iTunes Store.

Kacey Musgraves’ Early Acoustic Song Recordings Released Today

Triple Pop SinglesTriple Pop has announced that a two (2) song digital Digital EP featuring songs from Academy of Country Music nominee Kacey Musgraves is available online at the iTunes Store.

Recorded over five years ago in 2008, the exclusive EP features Kacey Musgraves performing acoustic guitar cover versions of the songs “See You Again” and OneRepublic’s “Apologize,” which the label had thought been lost to the sands of time due to a computer hard drive failure.

The songs were recorded at Brain Machine Recording Studios in Austin, Texas when Ms. Musgraves first got out of high school.

“They’re just acoustic songs, but they showcase Kacey’s developing performing talent, which has now made her famous.  She took these songs and made them her own,” says Triple Pop owner, Monte Robison, who produced the songs.

Ms. Musgraves’ hit Billboard single “Merry Go ‘Round” has been certified RIAA Gold and her debut  major label album, Same Trailer Different Park, debuted at #2 in the Billboard Top 100 albums.

Kacey Musgraves was nominated for multiple Academy of Country Music Awards, including “Vocalist of the Year’, alongside Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

Listen for free to the full stream of “Apologize” on Soundcloud.

Kacey Musgraves … is everywhere

Former Triple Pop artist Kacey Musgraves performed her hit Billboard single “Merry Go Round” on The Jimmy Fallon show last month.

Kacey has been nominated for three American Country Music Awards, including ‘Video of the Year’ as both artist and producer, and ’Female Vocalist of the Year’, where Musgraves is up against the likes of Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

Kacey was recently profiled as an up-and-coming artist in country music in The Hollywood ReporterThe New York Times, Huffington Post, LA Times, and USA Today.   And my hometown paper, The Columbus Dispatch, too.  She’s everywhere.

Her debut major label album, Same Trailer Different Park (Mercury/Universal), was released just this week and it’ll debut in Billboard Top 10 albums of the week – pretty impressive!  We’re so happy for Ms. Mugraves.  When we met her so many years ago, she had a special something and we knew she was destined for greater things.

You can hear/buy Kacey Musgraves’ version of the song “See You Again” which you can find on iTunes and Amazon on Triple Pop’s Stars of Montana album compilation.

Apple’s iTunes has now sold 25 billion songs

iTunesApple has reported that its iTunes retail store has now sold more than 25 billion download songs (25,000,000,000)!  The 25 billionth song “Monkey Drums” (Goksel Vancin remix) by Chase Buch was purchased by Phillip Lupke in Germany, who will receive a $10,000 Euro iTunes Gift card.

iTunes is the number one retailer of music worldwide and averages 15,000 songs downloaded every minute.  It’s been an astonishing rise to see a platform reach such worldwide scale … which didn’t even exist ten years ago!

Triple Pop is a proud iTunes authorized Content Distributor.  We were one of the very first indie labels to  sign a digital distribution contract with Apple way back in 2006.  We were thankful that such a great company would choose to give our tiny operation such an opportunity.  God Bless Steve Jobs!

Ernie Halter & Justin Bieber YouTube video duet clip

Justin Bieber surprised Ernie Halter by showing up at Ernie’s show at La Cave in Costa Mesa – we thought we’d share the YouTube video here. Justin also covered Ernie’s song, “Come Home to Me” at a concert in Hong Kong.  This video clip is their impromptu duet of that song.

Ernie Halter’s Uncovered: The Youtube Sessions is available on Amazon, iTunes and other retailers from Triple Pop.
